Neighbourhood Spotlight: Entertainment District
Toronto’s Entertainment District is perhaps one of Rent It Furnished’s most popular areas amongst tenants. The area attracts rental-seekers from all around the world, from celebs visiting for TIFF to executives looking for a downtown location. Found in the downtown core and bordered by the Toronto Waterfront District, the Entertainment District stays true to its name by offering endless options from the best theatres, nightclubs, and tourist attractions to exciting shopping and dining establishments.
Originally a warehouse neighbourhood for the textile industry known as the Garment Industry, the streets of the Entertainment District are lined with many of Toronto’s historically preserved red-brick exterior buildings and facades. Fast forward to a few years later when these affordable buildings were converted to trendy nightclubs, the area became coined as the Club District and once housed a total of 90 night clubs. Its no wonder why this charming ‘hood became so appealing to developers, and soon enough warehouses were turned into lofts, night-clubs became high-end restaurants and high-rise condos began to make their appearance. This area was soon transformed from the Club District into what it is now known as, the Toronto Entertainment District. Undoubtedly one of Toronto’s most iconic neighbourhoods, there’s a reason why Rent It Furnished decided to make our Toronto home in this trendy ‘hood!
